Round is a shape | Waist Disposal Challenge - the halfway point |
I thought at the time that it was a bit optimistic to start the Waist Disposal Challenge right before the silly season. All is not lost, though - we've still disposed of some waist, just not quite at the target rate. In reality, I think that the fact that we've lost weight at all over this part of the year (albeit not much) is a tick in itself. (Mostly down to a couple of excellent efforts - well done people, you know who you are.) I know that I usually put on a kilo or two over Dec/Jan - unfortunately this was also the case this year, but I find that looking at my graph of actual and target weights is a motivation to work harder. Speaking of which, I've uploaded the results so far. There are quite a few sheets in the Excel workbook - "Losing" is a summary of the members doing the WDC who started with a BMI of over 25, "OA" is a summary of everyone (overall), "M" is males and "F" is females. The numbered sheets are individual records, and include a graph to allow you to see how your measurements stack up against your target. eg my number is WE12, so I click on the "12" tab at the bottom of the screen to find that I shouldn't have had so many sausages in January (or should have walked a lot further). Actual weight - any weigh-in sessions you've missed are "filled in" with the previous measurement as per WDC rules. This means that your weight graph will flatten out from January onwards, as there are no entries filled in after that yet. If you want it to drop, you know what to do. :-) Target weights - While your BMI is over 25, the target is a 7% weight loss in the 6 months to the end of April, ie losing 1.17% of your original weight per month. Once your target weight corresponds to a BMI of 25, it won't decrease any further. Likewise, if you started with a BMI less than 25, that will remain your target weight. |
Results to the end of Jan To maintain anonymity I've deleted the list of participant numbers from the spreadsheet, so if you can't remember yours and would like to know what it is so that you can check your graph, just email me. |
