Provide safe-spaces to co-create via egobucket
Background:
Our CVs, qualifications and Background may be found on egobucket.com as there are two of us Geoff Bebb and Michelle Denise - working together to co-create.
I include an article below for "50s Something Magazine" giving a 'summary' of our activities and presentations which we tailor to the needs of the individual groups.

What on earth is an egobucket? It can spice up your relationships, stimulate your brain, and stir your creative juices. A couple of WA seniors have used one for years.

Geoff Bebb and Michelle Denise originally used it in business and teaching. Geoff founded Surpac International, a very successful mining software company, trading in 86 countries. For 22 years Supac’s ethos and business practises had earned the company State and National awards for excellence. Geoff harmoniously incorporated the egobucket principle with fair business practises. Michelle utilized it in teaching to create a ‘safe space’ for her students. This tool enabled her students to take risks in learning a second language and to create art works for foreign exchanges. The couple even took the concept to a French school. In retirement, this ménage-a-deux experimented with the egobucket to write novels together.

As a result of these experiments last month they launched their second completely co-authored book ‘Gecko Deflection’. This novel was inspired by Geoff and Michelle’s experiences in business and teaching. It is set mainly in Papua New Guinea and Perth. Their first novel ‘Fragments’ was inspired by a true dramatic amnesia event. The story is set in London, Perth and Sydney. Both books have now been accepted by the Association for the Blind to be formatted into CD talking books and Braille books. All proceeds from the sales of books in those formats will go to the Association.

The couple say that co-authoring is so stimulating and joyful that poetry and stories now just bubble out continuously. Their third novel ‘84 Ladies’ is already incubating and due out in 2011. They have refined their technique over 6 years to the point where they can write simultaneously anywhere where there is a computer outlet. They coined their unique method of co-authoring as ‘writing synegoistically’.

The couple’s next project is to share the egobucket principles and ideas with as many people as possible. They say that ‘One must be careful when using an egobucket though as it has been known to make you talk and laugh a lot with your partner - in public.’

Using an egobucket also promotes mental health – by fostering the safe space needed for both the diffused and focussed creative process; provides ‘mental gymnastics’ for all ages – combining left and right hemisphere brain activity; promotes cooperation and flexible thinking between individuals - in large or small groups; facilitates good teaching and business practices – by recognising the differing and common needs, talents, cultures of the individual and the group.
